George Fearon A.K.A “The Craw” Profile.
George is also one of the original members of the band he is the lead guitarist, the way he slides away and the range
he has played over the years amazes me.
But George is a man of many talents and started on the music seen in the early 1970’s as a part-time roadie for bands Longdancer,
Dave Stewart’s (Eurythmics) first professional band, and The Keef Hartley Band (ex John Mayall’s Bluesbrothers).
In the Mid 1970’s he joined The Wobblies, playing acoustic guitar, which was an Irish folk band which included session keyboard player Jimmy Hall,
ex Elton John, Kiki Dee and Frankie Miller band.
In the mid 1980’s he turned his attentions to managing for a band called The Sugar Fields, he also helped out in a friends recording studio –
Clive Jewett, guitar technician for bands including Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Johnny Cash, Status Quo and Kim Wild etc.
In between 1986-88 he played guitar with many local R&B bands.
In 1989 he helped form The Alligators, with Rob and remained with them until 1995 when the band disbanded, in his time with
The Alligators he started to co write with Rob original material including an album produced by Chas Chandler, the band would gig
mostly 4 or 5 times a week, some gigs include The North Shields “Fish Quay Festival”, they even did a Swedish Tour,
in 1993 while George was still with The Alligators he also joined The Animals 2, with Rob, Hilton and Joss, he remained playing in
both bands until 1995 when The Alligators split up.
Later in 1995 and 1996 he formed The Gators with Alligators band mates Dod and Joss, which had the addition of Jonathan Boyle on
vocals and were managed by Tony Renton, one of their biggest gigs was Children in Need concert with Tim Healey and Denise Welch,
but the band split up soon after.
Other bands he’s played in include The Boneshakers, Stoned, and he is currently with The Bushwackers, and in 2006 he rejoined The Alligators.
