Bruce McDonald A.K.A “the Man with the Magic Lips” Profile.


Bruce plays Harmonica and sings backing vocals with the Alligators and is now in his second stint with the band as he was part of the original line-up, however he left in 1993 to join The Nighthawks.

But Bruce came back when the band re-launched in 2006 bigger and better, he is also currently with Barkin Billy and the Scrapyard Dogs.

In Bruce’s early career he worked with the one and only Brian Ferry, other bands he’s been part of throughout his career include, 1962-1963 the Banshees with Bryan Ferry-drums/vocals (see Michael Bracewells book), Roxy the band that invented an era. The Jazzboard with Nigel Olsson on drums, he went on to be Elton John’s regular drummer and Mick Grabham on guitar, who went on to play with Procol Harum. Bruce was the main vocalist but sometimes played drums and Nige sang. in the band was Jimmy Hall on keyboards (who’s bands included Kiki Dee, Highway and Frankie Millers Full House), Brian Hughes on bass, and Roger Smith on sax. This band had many different line-ups.
